Custom 3D printed home decor
What decor can be 3D printed to order?
Almost any decorative piece that doesn't exist in your size, colour or shape: vases and planters, lampshades, letters and names, figures, wall mounts or a handle to match a piece of furniture. Detailed pieces are printed in resin and large ones in filament (FDM), often in parts. It's the most requested category on Fabrishare: 33 of the 110 requests registered between May and October 2026 were for decor and decorative figures. A medium FDM part costs €7–€19, excluding VAT and shipping. Post your project for free and get offers from makers within 24–48 hours.
Custom decor ideas
Vases and planters
In the shape, size and colour you want. Printed in FDM, sometimes as a single continuous wall for a smooth finish.
Lamps and lampshades
Patterned shades, wall lights and table lamps. Always with an LED bulb: it doesn't heat the part.
Letters, names and numbers
A house name, a door number, letters for a wall or a shelf.
Decorative figures
Sculptures, animals, busts or collectibles for a shelf, in resin for detail.
3D figure printingMounts and organisers
Small shelves, wall mounts for plants, headphones or controllers, to the exact size of the space.
To match a piece of furniture
Handles, trims or a missing piece to complete a set, copying the style of the rest.

Resin or filament? It depends on the piece
| Piece | Technology | Why | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Figure, small sculpture, fine relief | Resin | Detail and a smooth surface | Best indoors: sunlight yellows it over time |
| Vase, planter, lampshade | FDM | Size, lightness and filament colour | If it holds water, have it sealed or put a glass inside |
| Letters and numbers | FDM | Cheap, in many colours, including gold or silk | Outdoors, in ASA or PETG |
| Large piece (over 20–25 cm) | FDM or resin in parts | Build volume | Joined with pins or keyed joints, and the seam is filled |
Colours and finishes
In the filament colour
The cheapest option: filament comes in dozens of colours, including marble, wood, silk or metallic effects. The part comes out ready, unpainted.
Hand painted
For figures, reliefs or a piece that has to imitate a material. The maker or a painter quotes it separately.
Sanded and primed
If you'll paint it yourself or want a surface without layer lines. Ask for it primed: you see flaws before painting.

FAQ about 3D printed decor
Can a 3D printed vase hold water?
For dried flowers, no problem. For water, an FDM vase can seep between layers: ask for it to be sealed inside or put a glass inside it.
Can I use a 3D printed lamp?
Yes, with an LED bulb, which barely gets warm. An incandescent or halogen bulb can deform the plastic, which in PLA softens from about 55–60 °C.
How much does a 3D printed decorative piece cost?
A medium FDM part, €7–€19; a 20 cm resin figure, €21–€55, excluding VAT and shipping. Large pieces, painting and design are quoted separately.
Can it be sent painted?
Yes. Say so in the project (under Finish, tick painting): the maker or a painter quotes it separately.
What if I don't have the file?
Send photos, measurements or a sketch: some makers model the piece. Design is quoted separately.
Will it last outdoors?
It depends on the material: PLA isn't for outdoors; for a part in the sun, ask for ASA or PETG. Standard resin is best indoors.
