3D printing cost calculatorWork out how much your 3D print will cost

Upload your STL file to see your part in 3D with its dimensions, volume and weight, plus an instant ballpark price in resin or FDM for any quantity. It's free and your file is analysed in your browser. If it suits you, ask the network's makers for offers without leaving the page.

What are you starting with?

Pick what you have. With a 3D file you will see it in 3D and get a ballpark price instantly.

How it works

  1. 01

    Upload your STL

Drag the file in or pick it. You see it in 3D and can rotate it.

  2. 02

    We measure the part

Dimensions in mm, volume in ml and approximate material weight.

  3. 03

    We calculate the price

With the real cost of material, machine time, consumables and labour.

  4. 04

    Ask for offers

If it suits you, makers write to you with their price and lead time within 24–48 hours.

What the calculator tells you

  • Part dimensions (width × depth × height, in mm)
  • Volume in ml and approximate weight in grams
  • Ballpark price: range and typical price
  • Total and per-part price if you order several
  • Resin (fine detail) versus FDM (functional parts)

How the price is calculated

It adds up the cost of producing your part: material (plus 25% for supports in resin), machine time and power, consumables and labour (€15/h), plus a failure margin. On top of that cost it applies a maker's margin, from ×1.5 to ×4; ×2.5 is typical. Same values as the Mr Resin calculators. Prices exclude VAT and shipping, and each maker sets their own.

What's inside the price and how to pay less

Your file stays yours

The calculator reads the STL in your browser: it isn't uploaded anywhere. We only receive it if you choose to ask for offers, and then we share it only with the makers who can make your part.

Questions about the calculator

Is the 3D printing cost calculator free?

Yes. Estimating the price and asking makers for offers is free, with no commitment.

What file do I need?

An STL in millimetres, which is how design software exports it. If you have a 3MF, OBJ or STEP, attach it when asking for offers; and if you have no file, send a photo or describe your idea.

Is the price exact?

It's a ballpark. It calculates the real cost with the same formula makers use and applies the usual margin, from ×1.5 to ×4. Each maker gives you the final price in their offer, depending on finish, lead time and quantity.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. It's analysed in your browser. We only receive it if you ask for offers, and then only the makers who can make it see it.

Does it work for resin and FDM?

Yes. Switch between resin (fine detail: miniatures, figures, jewellery) and FDM (functional or large parts) and see how the price changes.

What if I don't have a 3D file?

Choose «I have a photo» or «Just the idea» at the start: you still get offers, and some makers design the part for you.
